Our story began years ago, as a teen I loved to sew, bake, design floral arrangements, custom make furniture and home décor. My hobbies allowed me to escape from the from my career in the Automotive industry. I started working for a General Motors dealership in 1983. Starting as a service file clerk advancing into every position in the service department up to the Service and Parts Director. My departments received top awards for customer satisfaction throughout the years.
General motors mission is: “To earn customers for life by building brands that inspire passion and loyalty through not only breakthrough technologies but also by serving and improving the communities in which we live and work around the world.” Barefoot Beach Bride mimics this mission.
I retired from the industry and started designing, weddings, events, home décor along with doing interior designing. I enrolled in Professional Wedding Institute for Wedding and Event Planners through Thomas Education Direct. Became a member of the highly accredited Association of Bridal Consultants and opened Amber Nicole’s Bridal Salon in Salisbury Maryland. We did not just sell the dress, we assisted our couples with design, coordinating colors to recommending day of logistics. And yes, full wedding planning when we could fit it in.
The internet became the way of ordering wedding gowns and attire we needed to make a change while we could. I started planning beach weddings for a few couples. The entrepreneur that I am gave thought to the idea “could this be a service we could offer in my hometown Ocean City MD? Yes, this is when Barefoot Bride was started. I started thinking of what I had heard repeatedly from planning to the wedding day realized that couples were working with smaller budgets and just could not plan the wedding they wanted without breaking the bank. Most didn’t know where to start or realize how much time, moving parts or the amount of details that were involved with planning their wedding day. They thought they could it all themselves or with the help of family, friends or in some cases an untrained planner. By the week of the wedding, they were so stress out and wishing the day would just get here and be over with. This just broke my heart; I knew there could be an easier way
I decided to write my own planning system which did not include a lot of tradition or the way everyone thought they were supposed to plan and timelines for the wedding day. We needed to offer affordable weddings with the most important details and would allow the couple to envision the final day and to enjoy every minute. I created wedding packages with pre-designed details, decorations and timeline at the most affordable price we could offer with all the vendors and details needed for the wedding day.
In September 2014. I sold Amber Nicole’s Bridal, focused on way to make the business better and put 100% of my time into what is now Barefoot Beach Bride! I developed BBB Management Planning System, a custom-built and comprehensive set of event management tools with interactive communications and tailored applications. Our Management System allows our clients to constantly stay updated on the logistical elements of their wedding. Including Itinerary, guest lists, budgets, task lists and more, our Management System ensures that no detail is overlooked during the planning process. Every element, from the design, finish of the hand draped fabrics, decoration placements, to the final itinerary, is carefully composed. We want our brides to look back at their weddings years later and feel that their wedding was timeless.
2020 the start of a New Decade and the start of Barefoot Beach Brides Full-Service Planning Company and Wedding Venue!
My dreams and visons are now complete and real. We have Relocated to 5909 Coastal Hwy. Ocean City MD. We have added a 2000 Square foot Venue Space. And a full-service Floral Shop Owned and operated by My daughter Amber “Thistle Flower Bar”

Our NEW Venue Space! 2000 square foot venue space focuses on a design that has a different twist than any other venue in Ocean City MD. Industrial style which lends itself to even more beautiful styling. Warehouse style windows, Neutral tone and painted brick walls, visible pipes with steel beams overhead and in throughout the room, these previously unsightly elements are now revered for their charm that adds a sense of timelessness to a modern wedding day.
It has taken more than 7 years to grow the business to where it is today. Feature on the season finale of Gypsy Sisters in 2012 choosen by the diectors for my design. Barefoot Beach Bride has been also named a top wedding planner, received couple’s choice awards, local and international reconditions. 2018 International Wedding and Honeymoon Abroad Magazine named Jodie Noonan one of the 50 top wedding planners in the world, in late fall we were given the Rose Award, for best wedding planner in the North East. We are honored to have received these awards and recognitions but only you can decide if we are the best planners for you.
These accolades are special, yet the most meaningful parts of our business are the incredible people we have met along the way. We wouldn’t be where we are today without these people, we have had the opportunity to work with.
It is rewarding to look back and see how far we have come over the years, but it is even more exciting to look towards the future. The best is yet to come.
